Projected electric costs and cost breakdown
What this month is projected to cost.
BuildingPulse won’t guess your electric rates. A projected bill built on placeholders is a number you can’t trust. One scan of last month’s bill calibrates every dollar figure on this page.
- 1Scan last month’s bill, or type the rates in yourself
- 2Review what it found, then approve
- 3Set this month’s demand + usage goals
How the projected cost splits between usage cost and the highest 15-minute demand charge.

Comparisons are length-of-month normalized.
We project the whole month from your usage so far: projected kWh × your energy rate, plus a demand charge on this month's highest 15-minute reading × your demand rate.
Month-to-month comparisons are length-of-month normalized, so a short month like February doesn't look cheaper just for having fewer days.

Electricity ratesRates confirmed ✓
From your latest utility statement. Per-kWh is the energy charge, per-kW the demand charge, and $/kW-mo your supplier's ISO-NE capacity pass-through (drives the Capacity Tag card; default FCA 18's $3.58). Defaults are placeholders.
Scan your electric bill
Upload or photograph this month's bill and BuildingPulse reads it, totals every per-kWh and per-kW charge, and fills in the rates above. You review before anything applies.
Bill cycle offset
Shift the month boundary to match your billing cycle. Billing the 5th to the 4th? Set 5, so "May 2026" covers May 5 to Jun 4. Leave 0 for calendar months.
Demand goal
A kW ceiling to stay under this cycle, drawn as a reference line on Live Demand with your peak tracked against it. Leave 0 or blank to hide it.
Monthly energy goal
A target for total kWh in a billing month. The Usage tab charts it and tracks your pace. Leave 0 or blank to hide it.
In-app demand alerts
A heads-up on the Live tab when demand is trending toward a threshold in the next ~30 minutes. The peak alert pauses for the first couple of weekdays each month.
Your alerts
Just for you, on this building. Push needs the FMC app signed in on your phone. The addresses further down are for everyone else.
Alerts for this building
Reach you when you're not on the dashboard: about 30 minutes before a new monthly peak sets your demand charge, and the Monthly Review on the 1st. These are the building's master switches; who gets what is set per person above.
Separate addresses with commas. For a text message, add your carrier's email-to-SMS address (e.g. [email protected]). Nothing sends until at least one address is here.
Building occupied on holidays
BuildingPulse assumes this building is closed on the eleven federal holidays. Those days are held out of the weekday and day-of-week baselines, compared against past holidays instead, and a holiday spent running in occupied mode becomes something we tell you about. Turn this on if the building runs a normal day on holidays, and they will be treated as ordinary days everywhere.
Weather-normalize year-over-year comparisons
On the Last Year tab, scale the comparison by heating- and cooling-degree-days so weather doesn't skew the percent change. Only enable if HVAC is metered by this Pulse install; without HVAC data it distorts the comparison.
Building profile
Your building's primary use and gross floor area, used to put its carbon intensity in context.
Force light or dark mode
By default this dashboard follows the appearance you picked for the rest of your Hub. Choose light or dark here to keep this page in that mode even if the Hub changes. This is useful for a display in a room that needs a different brightness setting.
Station link
Checking the station link…
When the button appears
The button rises onto the Live Demand card when your 15-minute demand average reaches this percent of the monthly peak or your demand limit. It stays hidden the rest of the time.
Shed durations
The durations offered beside the button. Tap one to make it the default; remove with the ×. Up to six, from 15 minutes to 24 hours.
Dry run
A practice pass with nothing commanded: the button rises on the Live Demand card exactly as it would in a real approach, taking the place of the monthly readouts. Press it, confirm in the popup, and the drill completes without writing to the station.
Sample interval
Applies to the live demand trace, heatmap, and day profiles. Lower shows more detail; higher smooths short-term spikes.
Meter type
The meter feeding this install. Smart Meter reads kW directly; Pulse Input counts KYZ pulses on an FMC controller and converts to kW/kWh.
